Who we are

Recordings, scripts and edits

Projects, scripts, recordings, imported videos, transcripts, notes and edit decisions are stored in the app’s storage on your device. DuoDirector does not upload this content to developer-operated servers. The app does not require an account and contains no advertising, tracking SDKs or third-party analytics.

Speech transcription uses Apple’s on-device Speech framework where supported by your device and language. Apple may download the required language models. Recordings are not sent to the developer for transcription.

Permissions you control

• Camera and microphone: used to preview and record video and audio when you use recording features.
• Import from Photos: Apple’s system picker gives DuoDirector access to the video you select, without requiring access to your entire photo library.
• Save to Photos: adding an exported video requires permission to add items to your photo library.

You can manage permissions in iOS Settings. If you decline a permission, the related feature is unavailable; other supported features remain available. A local export is not discarded when saving to Photos is denied.

Preferences and device information

The app stores preferences such as your preview canvas and teleprompter settings locally. It checks free storage to show available space and avoid file operations when space is insufficient. Battery information is used to display the device’s current status. These readings are not transmitted to the developer.

Sharing, Photos and backups

Exported files stay on your device unless you choose to share them. When you use the system share sheet, the destination you select handles the shared copy under its own privacy policy. Videos saved to Photos may sync using your iCloud Photos settings. Device backups may include app data according to your Apple settings.

These services are controlled by you and Apple or the selected provider; they are separate from developer-operated data collection.

Retention and deletion

Local content remains until you remove it using the app or system controls. Editing does not overwrite the source video stored by DuoDirector. You can remove generated exports through the app’s storage settings. Deleting the app and its data removes its local library; offloading the app can retain that data.

Deleting local content does not delete copies already saved to Photos, shared elsewhere or retained in backups. Manage those copies in the corresponding service. Because the developer does not hold your local library, we cannot retrieve or remotely delete it for you.

If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any attachments you choose to send so we can handle your request. Please avoid sending sensitive recordings or unnecessary personal information. You can contact the same address about access to, correction or deletion of information you have supplied to support. The 255bit privacy notice provides further information about contact-data handling and your rights.

This website and policy updates

This page is hosted on the 255bit website. Website hosting, cookies and analytics are covered by the website privacy notice and cookie policy, with the website’s consent controls. The app’s absence of tracking does not mean the website has no cookies or analytics.
